Omaha National is seeking an Investigations Analyst to join our growing team . This is a rare opportunity for an internet-savvy candidate who has an exceptional ability to research virtually any topic via the web.

In this role, you will utilize the internet and other investigative resources to identify and prevent potentially fraudulent behavior by injured workers, medical providers, and insured employers. Your research process includes the use of tools such as social media and popular search engines, as well as non-traditional resources less well-known to, or unavailable to, the public.

No experience in insurance or workers compensation is required; we will provide the right candidate with the industry training needed to be successful in this role.


  • Assist in the development of the internet investigation program.
  • Verify details regarding the businesses we insure to identify discrepancies that may be indicators of premium fraud or underwriting concerns.
  • Use social media and other internet resources to uncover activities of injured workers that are inconsistent with their reported disability status.
  • Investigate vendors and providers to identify concerns regarding legal status, services rendered, and billing practices.
  • Clearly and succinctly communicate investigation findings with key internal employees in the areas of Premium Audit, Underwriting, Claims Adjusting, and Medical Management.
  • Perform other Special Investigations duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
  • Exceptional knowledge and aptitude for conducting online investigations, well beyond the knowledge and skills of the ordinary internet user.
  • Bachelor’s degree a plus but not required.
  • Demonstrate the ability to verify data, spot trends, and identify inconsistencies. 
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are a necessity to success in this position. 
  • Possess the aptitude to learn workers’ compensation regulations and interpret complex legal and medical documents.  
  • Exhibit focus and motivation while engaging in repetitive work.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs, as well as exceptional proficiency in internet and social media use.  Maintain up-to-date knowledge of internet technology developments and the newest search resources and methods.
