✍🏾Job Description

SUMMARY

Applies principles of accounting to perform detailed account reconciliation and analysis on multiple balance sheet and expense accounts as well as monitors compliance with GAAP and company procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes but are not limited to the following:

Perform detailed account reconciliation and analysis on multi balance sheet and expense accounts.

Applies Principals of accounting to track CIP projects and set up active Fixed Assets into the asset system along with creating depreciation expense upload.

Perform statistical analysis to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and writes narrative reports explaining findings .

Manage Avalara Tax software ensuring appropriate data collection and prepares sales & used tax returns for 45+ states.

Register in states for sale and use tax filings as needed.

Review small equipment and maintenance items for accurate tracking.

Manage prepaid and accrual accounts as assigned.

Maintains and suggests improvements for accounting processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

Monitors compliance with GAAP and company procedures.

Prepare yearend backup for workpapers for external CPA audit firm.

Maintain current process documentation for your areas.

Backup for Jelly Belly Stores reconciliations and general ledger postings and freight expense process.

Other Duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and three to five years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

Proficiency with MS Office, including intermediate level in Excel. Concur, Avalara and Adaptive Insights experience a plus.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
