CliftonLarsonAllen (CLA) CLA Search has been retained by a building products client to identify a Regional Controller to serve their team by supporting the CFO.

About our Client:

Our client is a growing distributor and installer of building products for residential and commercial applications.


What You’ll Do:

  • Work closely with leadership to reform the current accounting department by understanding current people, processes, and systems and making recommendations to make the department more cohesive and efficient
  • Hands on management of the General Ledger of multiple entities across multiple states
  • Oversee the month end closing process, including the posting of journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Complete job costing for labor and materials
  • Monthly inventory accounting and reconciliation
  • Work with IT and Operations to implement a new inventory ERP system and overhaul inventory control processes
  • Manage the annual audit of multiple entities
  • Ensure accuracy of the work for all members of the department – Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Staff Accountants
  • Communicate and work closely with individuals across the organization from installers to leadership
  • Review processes and continually make recommendations for improvement
  • Travel to various regional offices and get to know the people and processes across the business


What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or similar
  • Experience working for a large organization in a leadership capacity – Controller, Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, etc.
  • Previous construction experience preferred, but not required
  • CPA preferred, but not required
